The Impact You'll Make

As Senior Director, Head of RD&E , you will lead the global technology agenda for a fast-growing sensing solutions business at Danfoss. Your work will shape how we keep our current portfolio strong while building the next generation of sensing technologies for HVAC/R , data centers , and other industries where performance, safety, and energy efficiency matter.

This is a role for a leader who wants to turn technology into real customer value. You will guide global teams across hardware, firmware, software, and digital services , helping bring smarter sensing solutions to market faster and with higher quality.

You will join the leadership team for Sensing Solutions and play a key role in our LEAP 2030 journey. Here, you will have the opportunity to grow people, strengthen engineering excellence, and help customers move forward on their sustainability and decarbonization journey.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the global RD&E organization and set a clear technology direction that supports business growth, customer needs, and long-term market relevance.

• Turn strategy into action by driving a balanced R&D roadmap and leading product development from concept to launch with focus on quality, reliability, manufacturability, and time to market .

• Strengthen engineering excellence by standardizing global ways of working, improving governance through stage-gate methods , and embedding design-for-quality, design-for-manufacturing, and design-for-cost principles.

• Build strong partnerships across Product Management, Operations, Quality, Procurement, Commercial teams , and external ecosystems to accelerate innovation and deliver the right sensing solutions to market.

• Develop high-performing global teams and create an inclusive, collaborative culture where people can grow, share knowledge, and deliver with both innovation and discipline .

What We're Looking For

• You bring a Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science , or a related technical field, along with 12+ years of RD&E leadership experience in sensing, electronics, IoT, or advanced industrial technology.

• You have a strong track record of leading global R&D organizations and driving complex product development programs across hardware, firmware, software, and systems , from early technology exploration to successful product launch.

• You understand sensing technologies such as pressure, temperature, flow, position, optical, or MEMS , and you know how to connect product development with industrialization, supply chain interfaces, and robust product design.

• You have experience shaping technology strategy, improving engineering performance, and increasing the return on innovation through better prioritization, governance, and execution.

• You are a trusted and purpose-driven leader who builds strong relationships and measures success by the impact you create across Danfoss , enabling collaboration and aligning teams to deliver strong results.
